Upcoming Clearwater Aging Well Center Programs

CLEARWATER, Fla. The Aging Well Center, located in the Long Center at 1501 N. Belcher Road, will host a variety of upcoming programs. For more information or to pre-register, call (727) 724-3070.

Highlights include:

Living Well Series: Heart Disease

Wednesday, Jan. 18, noon-1 p.m.

Learn about the prevention and management of heart disease and the important numbers related to your heart health. With cardiologist Dr. Dan Sodano. Pre-register for this free BayCare program by calling 253-4076 or visiting BayCareEvents.org.

Natural World: Pythons!

Monday, Jan. 23, 1-2:30 p.m.

Bruce Shwedick from Reptile Discovery Programs will bring live pythons and discuss their natural history and the impact of these invasive species in Florida. Free.

Beginners Knitting

Mondays, Jan. 23 through March 6, 1-2:30 p.m.

Learn basic knitting skills and create a hat, mittens or scarf with Maggie Vricos. $44 (W) / $49 (W/O) for six-week course. $20 materials fee (cash) paid to instructor. No class on Feb. 20.

Laughter for Health

Monday, Jan. 23, 1-1:45 p.m.

Did you know that laughing may improve your health, reduce pain, loneliness and stress? Laugh with Sparkie Lovejoy. Pre-registration is preferred. Free.

Travelogue Alaska

Wednedsay, Jan. 25, 1-2:30 p.m.

What does our 49th state have to offer? Michael Marshall presents an entertaining program about traveling to White Pass, the wildlife, scenery, crafts and Native Alaskans. Free.

Watercolor Painting

Friday, Jan. 27, 1-3:30 p.m.

C.W. Petit teaches this exploration of the unique beauty of watercolors. $12 (W) / $14 (W/O) per class. Bring your own supplies or $4 materials fee (cash) to instructor.
